For most of us, we have an ambivalent relationship with facial hair. If we are men, we are trying to tame it, shave it, and groom it. If we are women, we are trying like hell to make sure no one knows we have it. Not that many people have fun with and celebrate their facial hair. However, there are those special aficionados who trek to the World Beard and Mustache Championships, and in their honor I am going to post some of my favorite “styles”.
It takes commitment, patience, and a lot of mustache wax to create these works of art! So, for all of those men out there who are inspired by these looks… you have a whole year until the next competition, so throw those razors away and invest in a big tin of wax! Can’t wait to see the pictures!

At first, there is the EEWW factor. Then a second look earns a little respect for what it must take to engineer something like that. And then it's back to EWWW. Because who would want to kiss that? Or having it sleeping on the pillow next to you?

ReplyDeleteThe article I read said that most of the contestant's wives helped with the styling. I guess all of that time most girls spend styling doll hair can pay off after all!
